With the heat that is inevitable this time of year, we have found one of our greatest relievers is going camping. We get to get away from life and enjoy the great outdoors. This last weekend, we made the trip to the Henry's again. We went last year and had so much fun we decided we would like to try and make a tradition out of it for as long as our growing families will allow. The trek is a long one for all of us. Especially Kevin and Chanda who came from Wyoming and brought Jake with them. They weren't able to come with us last year but this year were able to. We sure had some good times.

We left Thursday morning early to make it there early enough in the day to get the camp site we wanted and early enough to set up. When we got there, it was drizzling. By the time we started unpacking, the rain started to come down a little bit harder. We started to work quicker. We got the tent set up and decided to sit it out while it rained. It wouldn't rain that much or that long, right? Wrong ... It kept coming down and coming down. The seams had started to get over saturated and were starting to leak at this point. Ah!! We had just barely got there and everything was already starting to get
wet. Luckily Brett had brought both of our tarps so when it let up a bit we rigged up a cover for our tent. Thank heavens ... Ha, I was being whiny and he put up with it all. He made everything better in order for us to be dry and 'cozy'.The tent was set up and the storm rolled in. We watched a pretty amazing thunder storm. It was kinda scary at times. The lightning was hitting so close. No breaks in-between lightning and thunder.
Here are a few pictures of the deer and scenery we saw.

We decided to take a different trail to see if we could see anything different. (Deer or scenery) Well, we got what we wished for. Rockiest and steepest trail either Brett or I had ever been on. I think that went for a lot of the others in our crew too. Chanda and Curtis rode the Honda. We'll just say it's seen it's better days. They were both troopers! After a lot of rocks and some crazy moments, we all made it to the top safely. This is us close to the top just before finishing the rest of the drive to the towers. Pretty close to 11,000 feet in elevation.

We had such a great trip! We got to see the beautiful mountains, some amazing buck, got wet, and made some great great memories. Every morning and night we went scouting to see if we could see any of the monster muley's. We definitely found some of them but couldn't quite get close enough to get some good images. They were always just a little too out of range. The last morning while were there, Dad, Brett, and I went out scouting. We thought we would try one last time to see if we could see those buck we saw. While on top of the hill, we watched all of the rain showers roll closer and closer. As we started down off the mountain, it started to dump on us. If you look close at the picture (see bottom), we are all 'glistening'. We're all three soaked. And Dad has mud on his face. We out ran the rain just enough to for him to get the dust from the dry roads closer to camp. Well, the dry roads didn't last long. The storms from the first day were back. We sat out the rain for a bit then decided when it let up a little, it was time to go. 5 hours later we made it home: cleaned up and instantly fell asleep. Our trip was over.
... Great company, Wonderful memories, Good times ...
